Alabama's football coach and his wife also appeared in the parade, which culminated with a celebration in the parking lot of the Tuscaloosa News building. Following a $1 million contribution from the Saban family to go toward the new Saban Center, along with a $250,000 gift from the Nick's Kids Foundation, city officials chose to rename the stretch of 28th Avenue in the foundation's honor.
