Police Investigate Shots Fired At Tuscaloosa Apartments Thursday

Numerous 911 calls were received by the Tuscaloosa Police Department Thursday night reporting shots at the Grand at Rum Creek Apartments

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says numerous 911 calls were received by the Tuscaloosa Police Department Thursday night reporting shots fired at the Grand at Rum Creek Apartments on Alabama Highway 69 South.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the unit, said TPD officers arrived at the complex and located multiple vehicles and apartment buildings had been shot into. The initial calls came in around 10:30 p.m.

"Witnesses reported a group of males got into an altercation in the parking lot and that multiple persons were seen firing shots," he said. "At this time, no one had been found, or has come forward reporting that that they were actually shot, struck, or injured by any of the gun fire."

Kennedy said the case remains under investigation and urged those with information to contact the Violent Crimes Unit by calling (205) 464-8690.
