Reading Allies volunteers must be at least 16 years old and adhere to the background check requirements of the local school district.

Organizers say both returning and first-time volunteers are encouraged to participate.

Volunteers work one-on-one with students, providing encouragement, skill practice and consistent support that teachers say contributes to measurable improvement.

Residents interested in signing up can do so through the program’s online registration portal.

Reading Allies is also offering informational visits this semester, with local churches, businesses or civic organizations able to request a program representative to speak about volunteer needs and opportunities.
