Reco Dawson Hired As Shelton State Men's Basketball Coach
Shelton State Community College Athletics on Thursday announced that Reco Dawson has been hired at the Bucs' new men's basketball coach.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College Athletics on Thursday announced that Reco Dawson has been hired at the new men's basketball coach for the school.

Dawson brings with him more than two decades of coaching experience, coming to Tuscaloosa after serving as the head men’s basketball coach for Central Georgia Technical College.

“Reco Dawson is an excellent fit with Shelton State Athletics,” said SSCC Athletics Director Cara Crosslin. “We are confident that he will build on the foundation of an already successful program and take our players to the next level.”
Dawson has also held coaching positions at Georgia Southwestern State University and South Georgia Technical College. He will take the position vacated by former SSCC men's basketball coach Joe Eatmon, who was named as the school's dean of community relations earlier this year.

In terms of accolades, Dawson is a four-time Coach of the Year with three conference titles.
