TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Reform man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Pickens County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said Christopher S. Byrd, 33, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado when it collided head-on with a 1994 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by another man from Reform.

The crash happened at about 4:20 p.m. Monday, May 11, on Alabama Highway 17 near the 217 mile marker, approximately six miles north of Reform.
Troopers said Byrd was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver was injured and taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi, for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
