The Kick-off Day for Shelton’s BEST is set for Sept. 1, with the 2022 Shelton’s BEST Robotics Competition scheduled for Oct. 28-29 on the Shelton State Martin campus.

The free program will allow public, private, or home middle and high school students to compete in robotic design, software programming, and marketing presentations, with Shelton State providing all kit materials required for each team. The teams have the opportunity to be mentored by engineers and technical professionals from local industry.
BEST is a non-profit, volunteer-based program designed to inspire students through competitive robotic design, while Shelton’s BEST aims to enhance marketing-based skills. The marketing category allows students to brand and advertise their school’s robotic concept.

The top five teams participating at Shelton’s competition will then qualify to compete at South’s BEST at Auburn University in December.
