Relief Fund Established For Northside High Principal Who Lost Home In Fire

SAMANTHA, AL — A relief fund has been established to help Northside High School Principal Jeremy Madden and his family after their home was destroyed by fire last Friday night.

Sulphur Springs Church has launched the Madden Family Fire Relief Fund, with organizers saying all money donated through the effort will go directly to the Madden family to help meet their immediate needs.

The fundraising effort comes after Madden lost his home Friday, Aug. 21, while he was attending Northside's football game against Winfield High School.

As Patch previously reported, Madden received word during the game that his house was on fire and rushed home to find the residence destroyed. No members of the family were home when the fire occurred and everyone was reported safe.

Madden also told Patch that when he arrived at the home, he initially could not find the family's dog, Kai. He went into the rubble calling for the dog before Kai emerged safely.

In announcing the relief fund, Sulphur Springs Church echoed the community support that has emerged for the Madden family in the days since the fire.

"We are all Northside, and we help our own!" the church said.
