Reopening Celebration Planned For McDonald Hughes Center July 26
The City of Tuscaloosa and PARA plan to show off the new additions and renovations during a "Day of Play" event on July 26.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Elevate Tuscaloosa and Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority (PARA) announced on Tuesday that they will celebrate the reopening of the McDonald Hughes Community Center with a "Day of Play" event on Monday, July 26 at 10 a.m. following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The City of Tuscaloosa says community members are invited to enjoy free access to the updated facility, which now includes an indoor playground. A limited number of free snow cones will also be provided for attendees.

Other amenities added to the facility through Elevate Tuscaloosa include a covered drop-off for cars, restoration of restrooms and showers, the installation of new, sound-absorbing gym flooring and upgraded lighting.
Additionally PARA staff will be on-site to give tours of the McDonald Hughes Community Center, and will waive the registration fee for any guests who register for a membership during the event.

The McDonald Hughes Community Center is located at 3101 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., and will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
