The road is one of the most-travelled in the northern part of the county, as it serves to connect two busy highways — U.S. Highway 43 and Alabama Highway 171.
District 1 Commissioner Stan Acker, who represents northern Tuscaloosa County on the County Commission, told Patch the project is being funded through the county's road paving budget, along with state gas tax funds.

As of Friday morning, signage was displayed and county workers could be seen directing traffic near the intersection of Bone Camp Road and Highway 43.
"We also want to let people living and driving on that road to know to pay attention and be careful while the work is being done," Acker said. "In the longterm, it's a great project."
