Rosedale Resident, Bryant High Grad Earns $2,500 Scholarship
Bryant High graduate Takayla Burton was awarded the $2,500 scholarship after being selected for her academic achievements.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Power Foundation recently awarded a $2,500 scholarship to support a student resident of the Tuscaloosa Housing Authority and as a way to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the April 27, 2011 tornado. The devastating event destroyed Rosedale Apartments and killed nine residents.
This year’s recipient was Takayla Burton, a Rosedale resident and graduate of Paul W. Bryant High School who will attend the University of Alabama in the fall. Burton plans to major in business administration.

The Tuscaloosa Housing Authority selected Burton based on her academic achievements and she was presented with the scholarship June 21.
