Ryan Coleman-Williams Named To Maxwell Award Watch List

Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Maxwell Award

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Maxwell Award, recognizing the nation's top college football player.

The Maxwell Football Club announced Monday that Coleman-Williams is one of 81 players nationwide selected to the preseason watch list for the award, which has been presented annually since 1937.

Coleman-Williams enters the 2026 season as Alabama's top receiving target after totaling 49 receptions for 689 yards and four touchdowns while starting 12 of 14 games last season.

He also contributed 21 rushing yards on two carries and added 25 yards on two punt returns.

The junior made an immediate impact as a true freshman in 2024, earning All-America and All-SEC honors after producing 865 all-purpose yards and 10 total touchdowns.

During his debut campaign, he caught eight touchdown passes and added two rushing scores during his debut season with the Crimson Tide.

Alabama has produced five Maxwell Award winners, all since 2013.

Quarterback Bryce Young won the honor following the 2021 season, while wide receiver DeVonta Smith claimed the award in 2020. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa earned the recognition in 2018, joining running back Derrick Henry (2015) and quarterback AJ McCarron (2013).

Maxwell Award semifinalists will be announced Nov. 10, with three finalists revealed Nov. 24.

The winner will be announced Dec. 10 during the ESPN College Football Awards Show.
