Saban Addresses Accusations Against Jermaine Burton Following Loss To Tennessee

Nick Saban on Wednesday released a statement after videos of an incident following the Tennessee game began to circulate online.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama head football coach Nick Saban on Wednesday released a statement after videos circulating on social media appeared to show Tide wide receiver Jermaine Burton taking a swing at a Tennessee fan.

The scene played out as thousands stormed the field at Neyland Stadium on Saturday in the moments after Tennessee hit a game-winning field goal to defeat the Crimson Tide 52-49.

Another video also gaining traction appears to show Burton swinging at a phone as he was being recorded walking off of the field.

Burton had two catches in the game for 49 totals yards.

"We are aware of the situation with Jermaine Burton as he was exiting the field Saturday," Saban said Wednesday in a brief statement. "We are currently working to gather more information."
