Seat Opens On Brookwood City Council; Applicants Accepted Until Aug. 5

BROOKWOOD, AL — Brookwood Mayor Joe Barger announced on Wednesday that applications are now being accepted to fill a recently-vacated seat on the Brookwood City Council.

Seat 1 Councilman Forrest Hudson, who has served on the Council since November 2021, reportedly resigned due to his job. The applicant selected to fill Hudson's unexpired term would be up for re-election in 2025.

Applications can be obtained from Brookwood Deputy Clerk Tera Donaldson at City Hall, with applications being accepted until Friday, Aug. 5 at 4 p.m.

Barger said applications and supporting documents can also be emailed to Donaldson at tdonaldson@cityofbrookwoodal.gov. However, documents can also be dropped off at City Hall in a sealed envelope.

The mayor also said questions regarding the open position will not be addressed via Facebook.
