Schools with full-year participation, including the UA, received an average distribution of $72.4 million, up approximately $18.6 million from last year’s per-school average of $53.8 million.
The total reflects revenue generated from the SEC’s television agreements, postseason bowl games, the College Football Playoff, the SEC Football Championship Game, the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament and NCAA championships.

For Alabama, one of the SEC’s flagship programs, the increased revenue provides additional resources to support its broad-based athletics model, which includes programs in football, basketball, softball, gymnastics, track and field, baseball and numerous Olympic sports.
“The SEC’s annual revenue sharing allows member universities to support elite athletics programs, including sustained and meaningful investment in women’s and Olympic sports that enhances opportunities and strengthens resources, while advancing the academic and athletic aspirations of thousands of student-athletes,” Sankey said.
The total distribution also included $37.4 million retained by schools that participated in the 2024-25 College Football Playoff and bowl games.
Sankey said SEC institutions are well positioned to “deliver new financial benefits for student-athletes while continuing to offer a transformative, life-changing college experience,” including debt-free education, comprehensive academic services, healthcare, mental wellness resources, nutrition, life-skills programming and post-eligibility medical coverage.
The University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma, which joined the SEC in July 2024, did not receive a full revenue share.
Texas received $12.1 million and Oklahoma received $2.6 million tied to College Football Playoff, bowl participation and designated NCAA funds.
