Shelton State Adds Cross-Country, Golf To Sports Programs
Shelton State Community College on Thursday announced the addition of men's and women's cross-country and men's and women's golf.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College on Thursday announced the addition of men's and women's cross-country and men's and women's golf to its sports programs.

The new sports are set to begin competition in fall 2022. The new sports will compliment the existing programs of baseball, cheerleading men's and women's basketball and fast-pitch softball.

Shelton State also offers club sports in fishing and eSports.
"We are very excited about expanding our department to include these popular sports,” said Director of Athletics. Cara Crosslin. “Not only will this increase our overall number of student athletes, but it will also allow us to encourage the educational journeys of a brand new set of talented kids. We can’t wait to get started!”

The school also pointed out that the new additions came in a move fully supported by the Shelton State administration.
“Shelton State has been blessed with student athletes who are true leaders, and I am confident this will continue,” said interim President Chris Cox. “We encourage any student interested in either of these opportunities to reach out and be part of our growing programs.”
