Shelton State Basketball's Walton Signs With Mississippi State
The Georgia transfer is set to play this season for the Bucs before taking his talents to Starkville, Mississippi.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College men's basketball standout Jaykwon Walton signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his college hoops ambitions in the Southeastern Conference.

On Wednesday, the 6-7 guard from Carver-Montgomery High School officially signed with Ben Howland and the Mississippi State Bulldogs after playing his freshman and sophomore seasons for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Walton has yet to see any official playing time for the Buccaneers during the 2021-22 season.
Out of high school, Walton was rated a four-star prospect and individually ranked No. 69 by ESPN.com, No. 77 in the 247Sports.com composite, No. 85 by rivals.com and No. 90 by 247Sports.com.

He initially committed to MSU, before flipping and enrolling at Georgia, which followed a senior season in high school where the Blue Chip recruit averaged 17 points per game for the AHSAA Class 6A state champion Carver Wolverines.
He is the son of Kendall Walton.
