Shelton State To Close Early Amid Severe Weather Concerns

Shelton State Community College has announced it will close at its two campuses at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday due to the threat of severe weather.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College has announced it will close at its two campuses at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday due to the threat of severe weather later in the day.

SSCC says all activities scheduled after this time are canceled and additional information will be provided on the college’s website, through its SSCC Alert notification system, and social media as necessary.

Severe storms are possible between noon and 5 p.m. for the west Alabama area, with a wind advisory currently in effect.

No word has been given on early dismissals at the University of Alabama or Stillman College
