March 29, 2021 – As part of a celebration of Health Information Professionals Week and in preparation for the fall application deadline, Shelton State Community College’s Health Information Technology (HIT) program will host Virtual Information Sessions on Zoom Monday, April 19 at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22 at noon, and Saturday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m.  All information sessions are free and open to all health information professionals, current and former HIT students, and individuals interested in the College’s HIT program.

HIT Information Sessions will provide an opportunity for interested applications to learn more about the HIT program and career opportunities.  The theme of the information sessions, “Begin with the End in Mind,” was selected to showcase job possibilities for graduates.  Attendees will also learn how to complete the program entirely online.

“Health information professionals impact the quality of patient care around the globe,” stated Janice Washington, HIT instructor.  “As COVID-19 has shown, health data is more critical than ever, and we are prepared to meet the growing demand in this career.”

Registration for the Virtual Information Sessions is required.  Participants may visit HIT Virtual Info Sessions to RSVP.  Attendees will be sent a Zoom link 24-48 hours prior to their selected session.
