Shelton State, Honda Partner For Automotive Training Program
SSCC announced it has entered an agreement with American Honda Manufacturing to become a regional training center for its dealerships.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College (SSCC) on Monday announced it has entered an agreement with American Honda Manufacturing to become a regional training center for the Honda dealership network.

In launching the Honda PACT (Professional Automotive Career Training) program, the partnership will aim to provide state-of-the-art training for students who want to become certified technicians for Honda and Acura vehicles.

“Honda PACT graduates will possess classroom knowledge, hands-on training, work experience, and respected credentials,” SSCC Automotive Service Instructor Mike Hobson. “We are very excited about the possibilities this program will provide our students. It helps us train the next generation of technicians while offering them real-world experience in established shops and dealerships.”
SSCC says graduates will be qualified to work at Honda and Acura dealerships nationwide, with the potential to earn competitive salaries.

In addition to students receiving specialized instruction on Honda and Acura automobiles, students will also be able to use specialized tools and equipment while gaining practical experience through internships at local dealerships.
Training will consist of topics such as electrical fundamentals, engine systems, steering and suspension, and dealership operations.
Part of the program also calls for students to complete an internship at a Honda or Acura dealership.
