Shelton State Hoops Standout Signs With West Alabama
The University of West Alabama men's basketball program has announced the signing of Shelton State guard Thaddeus Williams

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The University of West Alabama men's basketball program on Tuesday announced the signing of Shelton State Community College guard Thaddeus Williams.

"The whole time recruiting Thadd, we felt like he was one of the best guards in the ACCC," head coach Nick Woodruff said. "He was a huge contributor on back-to-back ACCC championship teams. He knows how to win and will bring experience and all-around guard play to next year's team."

Williams played 60 games over two seasons at Shelton State under head coach Joe Eatmon, starting in 56 of them. Over that time, the Bessemer native accumulated 686 career points, 229 assists, 215 rebounds, and 103 steals
During the 2021-22 season, Williams averaged 12 points per game for the Bucs, along with 3.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game. He also shot 48% from the field and 43.5% from three-point range.

For his contributions, Williams was named to the 2021-22 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Second Team All-Region and named to the All-Tournament Team.
"He is serious about getting a degree and excited about coming to UWA to compete in one of the toughest Division II conferences in the country," Woodruff said.
