Shelton State To Host Free AI Training Course For Community
SSCC will offer a free community training session later this month aimed at helping locals better understand artificial intelligence

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College will offer a free community training session later this month aimed at helping West Alabama residents better understand artificial intelligence, along with how it can be used in everyday life and the workplace.

The school will host "AI Made Simple" from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, on Shelton State's Martin Campus in Room 2825.

Shelton State says the event will feature a 90-minute guided, hands-on session introducing participants to artificial intelligence and practical ways to use AI tools.
Organizers said the program is designed to be accessible to beginners who are curious about the technology while also providing useful information and applications for people who already have experience using AI tools.

The training is geared toward a broad range of community members, including job seekers, parents and local business owners interested in incorporating AI into their personal or professional lives.
The event is part of the Alabama Community College System's AI Community Caravan, a statewide initiative aimed at increasing AI literacy by offering free training through Alabama's community colleges.
Space for the Sept. 28 session is limited and advance registration is required on the Shelton State website.
