TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College women's basketball freshman point guard Makala Hobdy was announced this week as the Alabama Community College Conference's Women's Player of the Week.

This comes after a double-double performance in a lopsided 116-40 win over Concord University where she tallied 17 rebounds and 14 assists, along with adding 9 points in the winning effort.

The native of Troy and former standout at Charles Henderson High School then put up 11 points in a 57-46 win over Walters State Community College the following day on Nov. 4. In that win, she also contributed 9 assistants and 8 rebounds.
Shelton State (2-0) will return to action Friday against Chipola College in Marianna, Florida.
