Sippial Named Dean Of University Of Alabama Honors College

The University of Alabama on Monday announced Tiffany Sippial as the next dean of the UA Honors College.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama on Monday announced Tiffany Sippial as the next dean of the UA Honors College.

Sippial's first day on the job will be July 5 and she comes to the Capstone from Auburn University, where she served for five years as director of the Honors College and as a professor of history.

“I am honored and humbled to serve as dean of The University of Alabama’s nationally ranked and widely celebrated Honors College,” she said. “This is truly a dream opportunity to support and empower people, foster new initiatives, and guide growth in a college already considered a leader in honors education.”

Sippial's research focuses on the experience of women in Latin America as part of a broader commitment to the study of the operation of power in Latin American society. She is an award-winning author and has garnered numerous academic accolades, while also securing several prestigious research grants.

“We are thrilled that Dr. Sippial will be joining us,” UA Executive Vice President and Provost Jim Dalton said “She brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the position that I am sure will lead our Honors College and its students to even greater heights.”
