The opening comes after both northbound lanes were opened in May, allowing traffic to shift onto the permanent four-lane roadway.

With the latest phase complete, ALDOT says motorists will be able to travel on the project's permanent configuration of two lanes in each direction along the approximately seven-mile corridor.

ALDOT said the improvements are expected to improve traffic flow, enhance safety and accommodate continued industrial growth in the Vance area.

Although all travel lanes will be open, ALDOT says crews will remain on-site to complete permanent pavement striping, construct the shared-use path and finish other remaining project items.
