While the world-famous coffee shop brand has yet to open a standalone location on the north side of the Black Warrior River, Hogg said he hopes the new location will result in a bigger presence in Northport for the company.

"Although talks with Starbucks has not produced a stand alone building (yet) in Northport, I was pleased to learn of the partnership with the new Courtyard by Marriott for a limited menu," Hogg told Patch. "We hope this will be a catalyst for moving forward with an eventual brick and mortar location as well."
