Stillman Athletics Secures Deal With New Balance; Will Add Volleyball And Bowling

Stillman College Athletics will have a new look in the coming years, along with some new athletic offerings as it adds two new programs.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Stillman College Athletics has secured an exclusive apparel and equipment agreement with New Balance, which represents the first such deal between the company and a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

Stillman College officially announced the five-year contract Thursday in tandem with Homecoming festivities, as New Balance and supplier BSN SPORTS met with coaches, student-athletes and members of the college’s administration.

The contract offers a variety of rebates, free promotional products, and performance incentives, the college said, and will include on-field and retail apparel.

Stillman said New Balance and BSN will soon begin outfitting the school's six NAIA programs: baseball; men’s and women’s basketball; softball; track and field; and cross-country.

The college also took this time to reveal that it will debut two new athletic programs later this year — volleyball and bowling.

“To have a major brand like New Balance gives us a pedigree in the market amongst other schools,” Stillman College Athletic Director Terrance Whittle. "Especially others who are already solidified in their branding. Recruits will know what we’re wearing, what we promote and what we’re associated with,” he added. It will help keep our student-athletes and coaches excited.”
