Stillman's McCray, Boso Combine For No-Hitter Tuesday

The no-hitter represents the first for the Stillman College softball program since 2017.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Stillman College softball pitchers Lexi McCray and Elisabeth Boso combined for a no-hitter Tuesday in game two of a sweep of Oakwood University, which helped the Tigers improve to 6-0 on the season.

The double-header on Tuesday at the Stillman College Softball Complex featured two 5-inning games, with the no-hitter being the program's first since March 2017.

McCray (3-0) and Boso struck out half of the batters they faced in the winning effort.

McCray, a native of Brookwood and former standout at Marion Military Institute, did not allow a hit through three innings, while striking out five of 10 batters faced and allowing one walk.

Boso came on in the fourth and struck out four of eight batters she faced.

On the offensive side, Carolyn Carter and Savannah Mayes led Stillman with two hits each and three and two RBI, respectively.

Mayes doubled to scored Carter for the first run of the game in the second inning, before then crossing the plate on an error.

Madison Bubel would go on to produce a RBI single in the third inning and later scored on an error to put the Tigers up 4-0. Carter then added a three-run triple in the fourth inning and scored on a Mayes' RBI single.

Stillman (6-0) is set to travel to Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel, Mississippi on Thursday, Feb. 16.
