TUSCALOOSA, AL. — If you were in Alabama gazing at the sky shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday night, you might have been greeted by a bright blue flash that was even visible in Tuscaloosa County.

Patch can independently verify that a fireball streaked across the sky at approximately 5:53 p.m., with numerous reports filed with the American Meteor Society (AMS). The highest concentration of reports came primarily from central Alabama. One AMS observer in Brookwood filed the only formal report from Tuscaloosa County.
