Suspect In Custody After Standoff In Tuscaloosa

A suspect is in custody after a brief standoff Thursday morning

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s SWAT Team responded to a standoff Thursday night in west Tuscaloosa that ended with a suspect being taken into custody.

TPD says members of the U.S. Marshals were serving a warrant in the 2800 block of 24th Street at approximately 9:15 a.m. Thursday when the suspect refused to come out of the home.

TPD’s SWAT Team was called to assist at approximately 9:30 a.m. and officers blocked traffic in the area while nearby residents were notified of the situation.

The suspect eventually exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident at approximately 10:20 a.m.
