The City of Brookwood is set to host its City Celebration on Saturday, May 14, which will feature live music, fireworks and more

BROOKWOOD, AL — The City of Brookwood is set to host its City Celebration on Saturday, May 14, which will feature live music, fireworks and more. Admission will be free for the family-friendly event.

Birmingham native and recording artist Taylor Hicks, who won season five of "American Idol," will be the headlining act, with local acts Stone Harbor and Tab and The Mojo serving as opening acts.

Radio personality Tony Kurre will serve as the event's emcee, with live music kicking off at 5:30 p.m after the gates open at 5 p.m.

The Kidz Zone will be open from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., while the fireworks show will round out the evening, beginning at 9:30 p.m.
