NORTHPORT, AL — Tuscaloosa County High School is hoping the community will come out to Wildcat Stadium Tuesday night for the debut of the school’s first girl’s flag football team.

Opening night will feature two games, with the Wildcats kicking off against John Carroll at 5 p.m., then against Hoover at 7 p.m.

While history will be made tonight at TCHS, it was Central High School who saw its girls take the flag football gridiron for the first time among area teams, taking on Greensboro last week.

Unfortunately, the Falcons fell short, losing 20-7 to the Raiders.

Girls flag football became an officially sanctioned sport offered to members of the Alabama High School Athletic Association beginning this fall. It is made possible through a partnership with the Atlanta Falcons and NFL FLAG.
