Tickets On Sale For 'Death By Chocolate' Fundraiser Event

Attendees can vote for their favorite treats during the event and proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit Family Counseling Service

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Family Counseling Service of West Alabama is once again selling tickets for its "Death by Chocolate" event, which will be held at the Tuscaloosa River Market on April 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The annual chocolate-tasting event provides attendees the chance to try a variety of chocolates
from different west Alabama bakers and chefs.

Several awards will also be presented, including the People’s Choice Award, Chef’s Choice Award and creativity-related awards.

Attendees can vote for their favorite treats during the event and proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit Family Counseling Services.

“Death by Chocolate allows us to raise funds and awareness for our organization while connecting with businesses and individuals within the community,” Family Counseling Service Executive Director Larry Deavers said. “I am excited to see how this lively, annual event can go beyond just chocolate tasting and impact the lives of the people we serve.”

River received the Chef’s Choice Award and People’s Choice Award during the 2022 event. The popular eatery will be competing again this year, along with 11 other local businesses.

“At the heart of Family Counseling Service is our united commitment to helping others improve their quality of life,” Deavers said. “Death by Chocolate provides a way to fund these efforts while engaging with our community. At the end of the day, who doesn’t enjoy a quality piece of chocolate for a meaningful cause!”
