Alabama DC Pete Golding To Join Lane Kiffin's Staff At Ole Miss: Report

Golding is reportedly leaving Tuscaloosa to join Lane Kiffin's staff at Ole Miss as the Rebels' defensive coordinator.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding is leaving Tuscaloosa to join Lane Kiffin's staff at Ole Miss as the Rebels' defensive coordinator, ESPN senior reporter Chris Low reported on Friday.

The revelation comes at the conclusion of a season many Crimson Tide fans expected to end differently, as opposed to the reality of a 2-loss Nick Saban team missing out on both the Southeastern Conference championship game and the College Football Playoff.

Golding, 38, just wrapped up his second season as defensive coordinator for the Crimson Tide after previously serving as the team's co-defensive coordinator in 2018.

Prior to his time in Tuscaloosa, Golding coached defensive backs and and served as defensive coordinator at the University of Texas-San Antonio in 2016 and 2017.

A native of Hammond, Louisiana and a graduate of Delta State in Cleveland, Mississippi, Golding has also served coaching stints at his alma mater, along with stops at Tusculum, Southeastern Louisiana and Southern Miss.
