TUSCALOOSA, AL — Head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team will begin the 2023 season ranked No. 4 in the first Associated Press Top 25 poll of the year, which was released on Monday.

It came as a surprise to no one that the two-time defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs topped the rankings, followed by No. 2 Michigan and No. 3 Ohio State.

The news came after the Tide held its first scrimmage over the weekend as questions persist mostly around the quarterback position and who will be the starter in Alabama's opener.
And on Monday, sophomore defensive lineman Jaheim Oatis took to the podium, along with junior offensive lineman J.C. Latham to answer questions from the media as preseason camp moves into its second week.

The No. 4 Crimson Tide will open the 2023 season at home against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
