Tide Nets No. 2 NCAA Tourney Seed, Will Face Rick Pitino & Iona
Shortly after clinching its first SEC Tournament Championship win since 1991, Alabama learned it will face Iona in the NCAA Tournament

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Just a couple hours after the Alabama Crimson Tide (23-6, 16-2 SEC) topped LSU 80-79 to clinch its first SEC Tournament championship win since 1991, the team learned it had received a No. 2 seed in the east region of the NCAA Tournament.
During ESPN's NCAA Tournament Selection Show, it was also announced Alabama would be facing No. 15 seed Iona and head coach Rick Pitino, who is in his first year at the helm for the Gaels and looking to redeem himself after an unceremonious exit from college basketball in 2017.
The entire NCAA Tournament will be played in Indiana, with first-round play set to begin at noon on Friday, March 19. The NCAA says games will be played on two courts inside Lucas Oil Stadium, as well as Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Mackey Arena in West Lafayette and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
