Alabama soccer won 2-0 over No. 8 seed Mississippi State to advance to the program's first SEC Tournament semifinals since 2011

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama soccer Tuesday night won 2-0 over No. 8 seed Mississippi State to advance to the program's first SEC Soccer Tournament semifinals since 2011 and the fifth in program history.

The win was made possible by goals from Ashlynn Serepca and Macy Clem.

Tide soccer coach Wes Hart was pleased with the shutout performance, saying Alabama was able to play several players and rest others.
"The combination play and movement that led to [Serepca] getting open in the box was first class," he said. "And like we've done all year long, we were able to capitalize on a set piece for the second goal. I would have liked that third goal to kill the game off, but it was certainly not for a lack of chances. Their keeper made some great saves to keep us at two. Looking forward to staying a few more days at the beach and playing in Thursday's semifinal."

Top-seeded Alabama (18-1-1, 10-0-0) will play the winner between fourth-seeded Arkansas and fifth-seeded Vanderbilt, with the semifinal matchup set for Thursday at 5 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on SEC Network.
