However, Tim Elko would hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth for the Rebels to tie the game and send it to extra innings with the score tied at 10.
With two outs, Tide outfielder William Hamiter got on base with a single, before Denton came to the plate, eventually hitting the go-ahead home run.
Dylan Ray (1-2) finished the game on the bump for the Tide, forcing a pair of fly balls and a ground out to give Alabama the win.
"This was an amazing effort from so many guys who made so many winning plays today," Tide coach Brad Bohannon said. "We kept fighting all game. The way Dylan Ray responded after the home run was huge. Drew Williamson had the big grand slam. Obviously, Zane (Denton) had the big home run. Tommy Seidl had the amazing catch in right in the ninth. And the list goes on and on. It was just a really complete team effort and a huge, huge win today."
Alabama (20-12, 6-5 SEC) will close out the series Sunday against No. 7 Ole Miss (19-11, 4-7 SEC) at Oxford-University Stadium at 2 p.m.
