The perfect game highlighted a standout afternoon for Alabama's pitching staff, which followed Briski's performance with another shutout in a 3-0 victory in the second game.

"Our pitching and defense have been awesome thus far," Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy said. "Jocelyn picked up where she left off last spring. Kailey and Vic were both really good the second game. It was also great to see Noelani and Torynn hit their first bombs in a Bama uniform."

While Briski controlled the game from the circle, Alabama's offense provided plenty of support, highlighted by Audrey Vandagriff's inside-the-park grand slam in the fourth inning.

The Crimson Tide opened the scoring in the third when Salen Hawkins led off with a solo home run.

Brooke Wells then added an RBI double later in the inning to extend Alabama's lead to 2-0.

Alabama broke the game open in the fourth, beginning with a two-run double from Karlee Ford before Vandagriff cleared the bases with her inside-the-park grand slam to make it 8-0.

Ava Bush followed with an RBI single, giving Alabama a 9-0 advantage.

The Crimson Tide added two more runs in the sixth on an RBI groundout that scored Noelani Livingstone and an RBI double from Kaitlyn Pallozi.

Vandagriff finished the opener 2-for-4 with five RBIs.

In the second game, Alabama's pitching dominance continued as Kailey Plumlee and Vic Moten combined to keep Mobile off the scoreboard. Plumlee recorded five strikeouts, while Moten added seven.

Alabama will return to action Sunday, Oct. 25, for a doubleheader against Itawamba and Southern Miss in Fulton, Mississippi, beginning at 2 p.m. CT.
