The “Metchie Meal," regularly known as the Lamb Feast, includes fresh cut lamb, a Classic Greek Salad, Basmati Rice or Roasted New Potatoes and is served with a drink and cookies during the limited time following the announcement.

Taziki's Tuscaloosa store owner Ron Woodis said the partnership was an easy one because of Metchie's status as a standout for the Crimson Tide and his love for the restaurant's menu.

“As Metchie continues his football career at the University of Alabama, we will work to fuel him with nutritious food, allowing him to reach new heights," he said.

Metchie has been central to the Tide's success on offense during the 2021 campaign and is also on the watch list for the Biletnikoff Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation’s top receiver.

Taziki's pointed out that it is one of the first fast-casual eateries to sign a sponsorship deal with college athletes.

"John eats at our Tuscaloosa Taziki’s location regularly," Woodis went on to say. "He understands that food built on the Mediterranean lifestyle will help to fuel his athletic endeavors, which makes him the perfect fit with our brand. We are excited about working with him."
