Tide's Miller Named To Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List

The nomination for Miller makes him the first Crimson Tide player to be named to the midseason watch list since Collin Sexton.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama freshman forward Brandon Miller has been named one of 25 candidates and one of only four freshman for the 2023 John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List, with the annual award presented to the nation's most outstanding men's basketball player.

The nomination for Miller also makes him the first Crimson Tide player to be named to the midseason watch list since Collin Sexton during the 2017-18 season.

The Wooden Award All American Team is set to be announced during the week of the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament, with the winner of the 2023 John R. Wooden Award named in April following the NCAA Tournament.

A three-time SEC Freshman of the Week honoree thus far this season, Miller is averaging 19.1 points per game — the most by any freshman in the country.

Miller and the Crimson Tide (12-2, 2-0 SEC) will take on Kentucky Saturday in the friendly confines of Coleman Coliseum. Tipoff is set for noon.
