Tide's Young, Reichard Snag SEC Player Of The Week Honors
Two Crimson Tide football stars received conference awards on Tuesday following a blowout neutral site win over No. 14 Miami.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Coming off stellar performances in the Crimson Tide's 44-13 win over No. 14 Miami Saturday, quarterback Bryce Young and kicker Will Reichard were named SEC Offensive Player of the Week and SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively.

Young, a sophomore from California, made his first career start for No. Alabama, going 27-of-38 for 344 yards and four touchdowns — breaking the previous record for most touchdowns thrown by an Alabama quarterback in their debut, at 3. Young's 94-yard touchdown strike also tied for the second-longest touchdown pass in school history.

Reichard, a junior from Hoover, went 5-for-5 on extra point attempts, in addition to 3-for-3 from field goal range. This included hitting from 38, 51 and 40 yards out.
No. 1 Alabama (1-0) is set to host Mercer (1-0) this weekend in Tuscaloosa.
