  1. Northridge High School senior Braden Hannig defeated Montgomery Academy's junior Whit Davis Saturday morning to win the boys' AHSAA Class 6A No. 1 singles title, givingthe school its first state championship in the sport. (AL.com)
  2. The West Alabama Recycling Partnership recently received a $159,000 grant from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. The group consists of the City of Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority (PARA), the University of Alabama and Shelton State Community College.
