Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Department continue to search for the man responsible for stealing a car with a small child inside.
TUSCALOOSA, AL. - Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Department are still working to identify the man seen stealing a Ford Expedition with a 16-month-old boy inside from a gas station on Crescent Ridge Road over the weekend.
The department on Wednesday provided surveillance video of the incident, which took place at 8:10 p.m. Sunday and shows a man wearing a white tank top and shorts exit a sedan in the parking lot of the Lucky Dollar store, before taking the SUV with the child inside.
TPD says authorities were moments from issuing a statewide AMBER Alert for the kidnapping when the abandoned vehicle and child, who was unharmed, were both located on Shaw Drive a short distance away from the store.
