Tuesday Night Panel Will Give Updates On Hunting & Fishing Laws

The panel discussion will feature a long list of notable names and will be moderated by Tommy Wilcox.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A panel discussion will be held Tuesday night in the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse Annex that will provide updates on recent changes to the state's hunting and fishing laws.

The free event will start at 6:30 p.m. and will feature free DePalma's pizza, refreshments provided by Buffalo Rock, door prizes and more. Organizers were quick to point out that this is not the state hunter education course, which is required before residents can receive their hunting license.

Former Alabama football star and outdoor TV personality Tommy Wilcox will serve as the event's moderator, along with retired Circuit Judge Gay M. Lake.

Along with Wilcox, fellow outdoor TV personality Eddie Salter will discuss calling whitetail deer and turkey, along with providing hunting tips and insight from their personal experiences.

Other topics will include updates to Alabama's hunting and fishing laws, safety and hunting tips, an opportunity to ask questions and a chance to suggest changes to laws.

The panel will be made up of the following officials

  • Lt. Kerry Bradford — conservation enforcement officer
  • Jeff Makemson — wildlife biologist supervisor
  • Chris McKee — district fisheries biologist
  • Hays Webb — district attorney
  • Dr. Robert Eaton — medical doctor
