Tuscaloosa Academy Names Share As Next Head Of School

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Academy on Monday announced that its Board of Trustees has hired Beckie Share as its next Head of School.

Share comes to Tuscaloosa Academy from Benedict Day School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where she currently serves as its Head of School. She will assume her new role on July 1, but will be on campus beginning in April.

A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Share holds a master’s degree from Florida State University in Educational Leadership and Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Other previous jobs/responsibilities:

• Lower School Dean and Associate Head of School at Episcopal Day School in Pensacola, Florida.
• Principal of the Lower School and head girls’ basketball coach at the Epiphany School of Global Studies in New Bern, North Carolina.
• Has taught second grade and served as a school technology specialist.
• Served as board member for the United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Nemours Children’s Hospital Foundation Advisory Council in Orlando, Florida.

The hire comes following a nationwide search conducted in conjunction with Wickenden / DRG Associates.

Share and her husband John have a four-year-old daughter, Bailey.
