Tuscaloosa Academy Soccer Coach Nets National Honor
The award recognizes members who are "coaching for character and using the soccer field to teach life lessons at the high school level.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Academy soccer coach Jeremy Hampton was one of 33 coaches to recently be named a "High School Coach of Significance" by the United Soccer Coaches Association.

"I am very appreciative of the award. It is always nice to be recognized for efforts on the field and in the classroom," Hampton told Patch Thursday. "The United Soccer Coaches is a fantastic organization I have been a part of for many years and feel really honored by this award. I would like the thank the parents, student-athletes, and Tuscaloosa Academy community for allowing me to do what I love everyday."

Hampton has been the head coach at Tuscaloosa Academy since 2019, previously working as director of goalkeeping for the Birmingham United Soccer Association. Other head coaching stints included stops at University of Montevallo, Marion Military Institute and Hillcrest High School.
