Tuscaloosa Academy Touts Latest Campus Improvements

Here's a look at Tuscaloosa Academy's latest improvements introduced at the beginning of the school year.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Academy this week announced the completion of a series of extensive renovations to enhance the learning environment for its students and align with the school's newly developed strategic plan.

The private school says these renovations and campus upgrades represent a large investment in creating a modern, dynamic, clean and safe space for students to thrive academically, artistically, and athletically.

Part of the renovations included the addition of new flooring and a fresh coat of paint that extends from the exterior of the building into the hallways.

Additionally, Tuscaloosa Academy says its Lower School classrooms are now equipped with upgraded furniture and designed to "foster creativity, engagement, and collaboration among students, providing them with an inviting and stimulating environment that supports their educational journey."

The school has also upgraded its bathrooms, saying its front main bathrooms were demolished and remodeled, ensuring not only enhanced aesthetics but also upgraded functionality and hygiene standards.

Other improvements were made to improve safety, including improved access control systems and security doors; enhanced security camera coverage, including a Flock camera system; and increased presence of an armed Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputy.

TA says these measures further reinforce the school's commitment to providing a secure and nurturing environment for all.

Lastly, the school has upgraded and and expanded its athletic weight room, which coincides with its new membership in the Alabama High School Athletic Association.

“As a space, our campus provides an incredible facility for students to learn and grow," Tuscaloosa Academy Head of School Beckie Share. "Our facilities needed to be enhanced so that our physical space matches the caliber of experiences and education students receive at Tuscaloosa Academy. We are poised and ready to march forward — the future ofTuscaloosa Academy is bright.”
