“Many of our hotels and restaurants are in critical need of finding both full and part time positions, especially as we near football season,” said Don Staley, president and CEO of TTS. “We want to help our partners find employees quickly as we prepare to welcome hundreds of thousands of guests to Tuscaloosa these next few months.”

The virtual aspect of the hiring event will be held through technology that connects prospective employees with restaurants and hotels. The businesses will then coordinate in-person interviews at their place of business.

The most urgent need is for restaurants and hotels to sign up to participate, as the country continues to face a labor shortage. To do so, they must upload their openings and details by completing this form. After registered, a West Alabama Works team member will be in touch to assist with next steps.

“Our West Alabama Works team has helped connect hundreds of job seekers to local careers through several of these virtual hiring events,” said Donny Jones, executive director for West Alabama Works and COO for the Chamber. “We are confident that we can help put a dent in the workforce crisis that our hospitality industry is facing as we continue to build a pipeline of candidates to meet future demand as well.”

Those interested in participating may contact West Alabama Works at (205) 391-0566 or via the West AlabamaWorks Facebook page. They may also call Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports at (205) 391-9200.
