Tuscaloosa Bar Raising Money To Help With Beloved Bartender's Medical Bills

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A popular bar in downtown Tuscaloosa is collecting funds to help cover medical bills for a beloved bartender who has had multiple surgeries and suffered complications due to a chronic illness.

The Gray Lady announced on Monday that it will dedicate 15% of the proceeds raised during its weekly trivia will go toward helping Kevin Sparks, who has spent over 90 days in the hospital over the last six months.

The bar announced that Sparks is about to have another major surgery, which prompted another bartender, Kristen Owen, to launch a GoFundMe online fundraiser with the goal of raising $10,000 for Sparks.

As of the publication of this story, 26 donors had contributed $4,160.
