TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa City Schools will host a Mobile Food Pantry on Friday to provide food for those in need its the TCS community.

The food distribution event will be held at New Heights Community Resource Center and Stars Academy from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

STARS students will be volunteering by distributing the boxes of non-perishable food items. New Heights Community Resource Center and STARS Academy are also partnering with Tuscaloosa's One Place and the West Alabama Food Bank for the effort.

"We know food insecurity is an issue for many people and we are working together to eliminate the barrier of hunger for our students, families, and the surrounding community," said Tesney Davis, mental health coordinator for the Tuscaloosa City Schools. "Our STARS students are excited to give back to the community through this event."

New Heights Community Resource Center is located at the old Stillman Heights location at 3834 21st Street, Tuscaloosa.
